Matthews Fire Alarm, as new sponsors of the Fire and Rescue NSW Firefighter Championship Association, were offered the privilege to attend and present the medals for the 2018 State Firefighter Championships in Dubbo. Over the years, MFA have supplied FRNSW Brigades and the Championship with Standpipes, Storz Ball Valve Breechings and Multijet Nozzles.

A competition of epic proportions, competitors took their firefighting skills and knowledge to the fields, competing against neighbouring Brigades for the record of fastest time in events such as Urban Pump Booster Valve/Ladder and Internal Hose Reel, Ladder Practice, Rescue and Veteran’s Urban Pump Suction.

With constant review and change of events, the Championships are the perfect catalyst to associate with contemporary operational firefighting and emergency response environments.

A big thank you to the Dubbo Fire Brigade for hosting the event, and congratulations to all the competitors, for a hard fought and exemplary show of honour for their chosen profession and their sportsmanship in the face of “friendly” rivalries.
